After some hour of sailing training it is natural that our guests would like to recognise the costline of the Lake Balaton from the water because from here it’s the most beautiful. This first initiative exciting expedition routs are the prime stairs to realize our sailing dreams. With thoughtful planning the routs - wich are matches some kilometres routs on the land – become unique and repeatless. About the sailing touring of the Lake Balaton
Some suggestion; conditions of the sailing delivery, route offer
One day tour.
Borrowing the boat you need to check for the licensed or unlicensed boat that they have enough and well sized life jackets, have minimum one safe anchor, storm rigging, warps, scoop, 2 paddles, grappling iron, torch (the best is two pieces so you need to take one with you!). Reaching the high water you need to search some orientation points as soon as possible for going back easily. From Tihany but from the southern coast you can see easily the calvinistical church lying high on the top of Alsóörs but don’t oversight with the church of Palóznak.
In the morning borrowing we tell that you can only lie at anchor in the daytime. Our boats can’t be made for landing to pilling or unpilling concrete wall and bathing platform, its edge can break immediatly. Near every beach it is found some shallow section from where we can walk out to the coast in the 60-80 cm deep water.

My foreign borrowing experience is if a boat is borrowed for minutes there will be a problem. I srart to fear. This nonchalant method of the borrowing may follow a precise reentry and in this case we must pay the damages that we didn’t cause.
For more days (2-7) only B-16 (DOMINICA) can be rented. This type of boat is well known about its safe and easy manageability. With the 10 m2 basic rigging DOMINICA – more days practice is supposed –the people haven’t got driving license can sail around the Lake Balaton too but they must always keep the Shipping Rules for finboats of course. They aren’t allowed to obtain motor for the boat.
Borrowing of our boat for more days lasts about 1-1,5 hours. We give the boat and its equipments fully sometimes we show the using of these than we talk about the normal behaviour in strong wind. We ask about the planning rout giving some advise for landing modes. In case of previous conciliation we can give the boat before the opening with an hour. During the second danger stormsign the staff decides that the boat can go or not.
During the voyage in case of 50 km/h wind or more speedy guast of wind – because of yours and the boat safe – the boat must not run out from the harbour. However the renter will pay the price of the damages. If you can’t go back home because of the stormy weather we’ll go for you.

1. day: From 9 a.m. borrowing the boat, in-sailing in Alsóörs. After this sailing to Tihany. From the harbour of Tihany isn’t far on walk too the Church of Tihany. Sightings: church, gallery, skanzen village, panorama. Befor dusk sailing back to Balatonfüred to the capital city of the northern coast. You mustn’t give it a miss from Summer to Winter. Some important sightings: the new shopping center on the left side of the harbour, or on the right side you can find the renewed reformation aged city side, Jókai place, maybe by taxi you can see the greek village, etc… 15 km
B. version: In southern-west wind it is supposed to sail to Siofok in one takk, to the capital city of the southern coast, so you can keep out the more hours last cruising. For who want to beach or entertainment the Beach House and the pleasure-grounds near the coast is perfect. More important sightings: flood-gate, Jókai place, Krúdy place, water tower, Memorial museum of Kálmán Imre, Mineral Museum, etc… In case of this back home we can hit Tihany, Füred (9 km).
2. day: morning start to Balatonboglár. We need to plan this period for the whole day, so don’t be late with the start. In ideal northern wind the rout would be last only 4 hours, but with the morning eastern 2 beaufort strong wind we could even slide on Tihany then the wind stops. In good case the wind will be stronger than turns to southern, southern-west, so we need to calculate more hours cruising.
Either by boat or car Boglár is obligatory stop for me when I’m around on the Lake Balaton. If we arrive with the light it will be well for us a 15-20 minutes walking to the sphere lookaout turret, from where we can watch one of the most beautiful sunset of the Lake Balaton. More important sightings: Blue- and red chapel, Statue Exhibition on the Temető hill, Potter house of Légli and the Wine museum.
B version: If we start to be fed up with the crusing in a promiscuous southern-west wind just take aim the waveless side of the jetty of Révfülöp. Unfortunately only the one side of the most northern coast harbours are in safe from the actually wind and wave. Unfortunately the fishermen know it too. It happens many times that in daytime or the middle of the night the wind turns and because of this we need to stand to the other side or lie at anchor preventing the damages.
The moody Révfülöp from the medieval was an important passage between the two coasts. It is worthy to visit our country’s first home-knowing collection or to sit into the moody Ibolya from its romantic rosengarden many girls leaves it such a woman. 35 km
3. day: morning start to Keszthely. Along the way we sail before the important orientation point of the sailorman before the pledge chapel of the Szentmihály hill of Vonyarc what was built in 1739 by 46 fishermen who escaped from the ice of the Lake Balaton. Arriving to Keszthely in the early afternoon. Here we can choose from 5-6 harbours by our purse or the distance from the center of the town. There’s no need to advertise the town redolant of age. Who don’t want to like to get here from the childhood? Be quick to watch the Festetics castle int he afternoon than we can walk in the Helikon park to collect energys for the night.
I don’t wonder if we would like to be here in the next forenoon and in this case it is binding to watch the Museum of Balaton nerby. 32 km
4. day: start to Fonyód in the noon, arriving in the afternoon. It is difficult to fail the two tops of the highest volcanic original hill of the southern coast. Its northern high-pitched coast was washed out by the Lake Balaton and the near 7 km long sandy coast was set from it.
The tarnished pleasure resort has the busiest harbour of the southern coast after Siófok. By all means let’s walk to the Vár-mountain, on it there was the center of the medieval village which was gridled by soil castle. This soil castel – was lying on an island those times - was one of the most impotrant chain link of the endcastle system against the turkish.
More important sightings is the nearby zigzag way where walking on it we can reach the Kilátópad and Bélatelep from where there is a beautiful sighting to our Sea and to the volcanic witness hills of the northern coast.
B version: arriving to Badacsony in the afternoon. The most busiest harbour of the cruise ships of the Lake Balaton is the most beautiful harbour at the same time with gas station. Altough there is a perfect gas station in front of the harbour but if there isn’t an operator it is better to walk to the gas station nerby with our kettle then our problem will be work out faster.
The beauty of Badacsony and its countryside was sung many times by our writer and poets too. The most important sightings: The Badacsony itself which is far away the most beautiful example of the basalt mountains formed by volcanic workings, house of Egry József in it with a continual opening gallery or the most beautiful house of the hill the Szegedy Róza Literary Monumental House, the Kisfaludy house, etc. 22 km
5. day: morning start to Balatonföldvár, arriving in the early afternoon. The barely 120 years old town was set by the Széchenyi family in the end of the 1800s, but in the begining of the 1900 years its big harbour, the long coast walk and the railway station had been already built. Popular from the beginning this pleasure resort has been being in progress moreover it became the citadel of the southern coast sailing.
Sightings: the harbour itself with the Galamb Island lying in its middle, the Kvassay walkway edged with the coast away sycamore trees, or from its western end for couple minutes later the remains of the iron aged soil castle pit is found. From here just a few minutes later the unique sighting of Földvár the 20 meters high lookout turret with more balcony is stood and from where in case of good weather we ecan enjoy the panorama of the chain mountains of the Lake Balaton and the Bakony. 30 km
6. day: morning start to Balatonfüred with touching Tihany, arriving in the afternoon.
B version: forenoon start to Siófok. Sightings of the sailing routs read above in the first day notes. 15 km
7. day: afternoon starting to Alsóörs. At 18:00 outsailing, boat transmitting. 9 km
With boat this 150 km voyage don’t be realized in air line, it can exceed the 200 km range easily.
What a short week, don’t you? In turn into this seemingly strict program I hide a „slide day” what we can pass in the rarely seen western pool, then from Földvár we can sail home outright. But we miss Tihany, Füred or Siófok. Then we didn’t see Kenese, Almádi, didn’t drink a wine in the Malom jerry of Csopak, didn’t swimm in the gulf of Sajkod or in Zánka, didn’t watch the Káli hollow over Révfülöp what was called to the one of the most beautiful landscape by one of the general of Napoleon when running along with his troop here. We didn’t stop in Tapolca going to the lake cave, wasn’t in the beach of Szigliget, in the castle, in the African Museum nearby, the „A” or „B” version is missing, don’t let me say about other sightings and the bustles of the southern coast. By the next time!
